Health experts warn of obesity pandemic (AP)

The  10th International Congress on Obesity started at Darling Harbor in Sydney Sunday with key points ranging from basic science through physiology public health to clinical medicine and will also run themes such as childhood and adolescent obesity. 'Obesity is an international scourge' said Prof. Paul Zimmet the chairman of a meeting of more than 2500 experts and health officials in a speech to open the International Congress on Obesity. 'This insidious creeping pandemic of obesity is now engulfing the entire world.'
